Thomas Hendricks is the founder of Hendricks Consulting, launched in 2024.

Background

I earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan. Upon graduation, I moved west to San Francisco, California and began my architectural career at Walker Warner, a 10-person firm that specialized in designing custom, high-end residential projects.

During my 25+ year tenure at Walker Warner, I advanced from a Junior Designer to become a licensed Architect, Project Manager, and member of the Leadership Team. Along the way, I was named as an Associate in recognition of my early contributions above and beyond project work, developing practice standards and overseeing technology and information systems, including the design and launch of the firm’s intranet as well as the shift to Building Information Modeling (BIM).

In successive roles as Studio Director and Director of Architectural Operations, I collaborated with Principals and Project Managers to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. I assumed ownership and management of project staffing, hiring, onboarding, and performance management. I proudly helped lead and steadily grow Walker Warner to over 80 studio members, while fostering a strong culture of design and delivery excellence, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and collaboration.

I have spent my career successfully working with the firm’s Partners and other leaders across business operations, including Finance, HR, Marketing, Technology, and Office Administration. I have deep experience implementing technology solutions and operational process improvements to streamline project delivery and elevate the firm and staff capabilities. I thrive in a design-focused environment, supporting people, projects, and process to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind projects for highly successful and discerning clients.
